“No respect for Finidi” — Anthony Ujah says Osimhen can’t disrespect Eguavoen

Anthony Ujah has weighed in on Victor Osimhen’s recent online outburst regarding former Super Eagles coach Finidi George.
During Finidi’s brief tenure, Osimhen was sidelined by injury and missed two crucial World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and Benin Republic.
It was reported that Finidi expressed he wouldn’t compel anyone to play for Nigeria, which raised questions about Osimhen’s commitment to the national team.
In response, Osimhen vented on Instagram, stating he no longer respected Finidi, feeling that the former Real Betis winger had unfairly criticized him during an interview with the NFF.
Although Osimhen later reportedly apologized, Finidi claimed he never received any such apology after stepping down as coach.
Speaking in a recent interview, Ujah suggested that the situation might have been different under the leadership of Austin Eguavoen.
“One thing in football is that if players don’t respect the coach, it becomes difficult,” Ujah stated in an interview on Brila.
“Unfortunately for Finidi, that’s what happened. Whatever transpired between him and Osimhen wouldn’t have occurred with Eguavoen because the players all respect him.”
