OFFICIAL: Esther Onyenezide joins Isreali outfit Hapoel Jerusalem

Nigeria midfielder Esther Onyenezide has joined the Isreali women’s topflight side, Hapoel Jerusalem.

The Nigeria international had spent part of the 2024/2024 season with Spanish top-flight side Madrid CFF after switching from Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side FC Robo Queens.

Onyenezide,21, signed a two-year contract with the Turkish side as the 2024/2025 season is presently ongoing.

The 21-year-old, starred once in colours of Madrid CFF after joining alongside Robo Queens teammate, Opeyemi Ajakaye.

The talented midfielder featured for the Falconets at the 2023 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup where she played all four games for the Falconets.

She scored a goal each against South Korea and Canada as Nigeria reached the quarter-final, emerging two-time Player of the Match at the tournament in Costa Rica.

Afterward, call-ups to the senior women’s national team came during a two-legged friendly match against the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT).

She made her debut appearance in another friendly match against Japan in 2022.
