Real Madrid target end to Barcelona’s 525-day unbeaten home run in El Clasico

Real Madrid visit Spotify Camp Nou with the chance to end Barcelona’s remarkable unbeaten home record in La Liga, which has stood since May 2025.

Barcelona have won their past 23 consecutive home matches in Spain’s top flight and have not lost in front of their own supporters for 525 days. According to Sport, that record will be put to its biggest test when the two sides meet in El Clasico.

The Catalan club’s run has gone beyond simply avoiding defeat. Since their last home loss in La Liga, Barcelona have not allowed any visiting side to take even a point from them. Opponents have failed to leave with a positive result after matches at Spotify Camp Nou, Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys or Estadi Johan Cruyff.

That dominance was particularly clear during the 2025-2026 season. Barcelona continued to win at home as they faced each of the remaining teams in La Liga, collecting the maximum 57 points from 57 available.

Their only home setbacks during that campaign came in the Champions League rather than the domestic league. Barcelona lost 2-1 to Paris Saint-Germain in the league phase at Montjuic before suffering a 2-0 defeat by Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their quarter-final tie, this time at Spotify Camp Nou.

Barcelona have maintained the same standard at home during the opening part of the current season. They have won all four matches played at Spotify Camp Nou, extending a sequence that has made their own ground one of the most difficult venues for visiting teams.

To find Barcelona’s most recent home defeat in La Liga, it is necessary to go back to 18 May 2025. Villarreal won 3-2 on that occasion, despite Barcelona having already secured the league title.

Real Madrid therefore arrive with the opportunity to bring an end to a run that has lasted almost a season and a half. A victory would not only give them the result in El Clasico but also become the first positive outcome earned by a La Liga visitor at Barcelona since Villarreal’s win.
