Rivers Angels Technical Adviser, Tosan Blankson, says his team is highly motivated and ready to face Nasarawa Amazons in the final of the 2024 President Federation Cup.
The highly anticipated showdown will take place on Saturday, June 28, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.
The two Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) heavyweights last met in the NWFL Super Six playoffs, where Nasarawa Amazons edged Rivers Angels 2–1.
Acknowledging the strength of their opponents, Blankson described the upcoming final as a tough contest but believes his side is well-prepared and eager to claim revenge.
“We know the Federation Cup final will be very tough because we played Nasarawa Amazons in the Super Six playoff which they won,” Blankson told Rivers Angels Media.
“The Cup final is a different ball game. Since we came back from the Super Six, we have been preparing really hard. The girls are motivated and determined to get it done.”
Rivers Angels, also known as the “Jewels of Rivers,” are eyeing the President Federation Cup as their only remaining shot at silverware this season.
