2025/26 NWFL Premiership: Edo Queens Bounce Back as FC Robo Run Riot on Matchday Two

The 2025/26 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Matchday Two fixtures delivered drama across nine centres on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, with tight battles, late goals, and emphatic wins shaping the early-season narrative.

Group A

Former champions Edo Queens bounced back from their opening-day setback against Bayelsa Queens to claim a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Heartland Queens in Benin City. Atume Doosuur’s 15th-minute strike proved the difference at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

Ibom Angels secured their first win of the campaign in Uyo, where Helen Daniel struck in the 87th minute to seal a late 1–0 triumph.

Pioneering CAF Women’s Champions League participants Rivers Angels edged Naija Ratels FC 1–0 in Port Harcourt, courtesy of Sharon Onwere’s decisive 55th-minute finish.

In Ado-Ekiti, Adamawa Queens extended their unbeaten start with a 1–1 draw against Ekiti Queens. Mary Sunday gave the visitors the lead in the 55th minute, but a 92nd-minute own goal by Favour Godwin ensured the hosts snatched a point.

Group B

FC Robo Queens maintained their perfect start to the season with an emphatic 4–0 win over Confluence Queens in Lagos. Kemi Adegbuyi netted a brace, while Favour Nkwocha and Tosin Rafiu added one each in a dominant display.

Osun Babes needed an 87th-minute penalty from Nofisat Tijani to overcome league debutants Ahudiyannem Queens 1–0 in Ile-Ogbo.

There was no breakthrough in Asaba as Delta Queens and Sunshine Queens battled to a goalless draw — a result mirrored in Lagos, where Dannaz Ladies and Nasarawa Amazons also played out a 0–0 stalemate.

Matchday Three of the NWFL Premiership is scheduled for next Wednesday as the race for early momentum continues.
