Joy Duru and Blessing Nkor shine in Asya’s draw with Antalyaspor

Nigeria duo of Joy Ndidi Duru and Blessing Nkor were the stars of the match as both scored for Turkish top-flight teams in a 1-1 draw between Antalyaspor and Asya on Sunday.

In their debut season in the Turkish Women’s Super Lig after moving from Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership and Tanzania League respectively, Duru and Nkor’s teams faceoff in the encounter.

The host (Antalyaspor) broke the deadlock in the tenth minute thanks to Joy Duru’s opener.

The team holds on to the lead till after the hour mark when the visitors level the scoreline.

Nkor equalised for Asya in the 65th minute to salvage a point for her team.

With the result, Antalyaspor occupy the 14th position on the 16-team Turkish Women’s Super Lig with four points.

Asya on the other hand are a point and a place ahead in the 13th position.

Antalyaspor will next meet ALG Spor on November 12, 2023, in another league game.

Asya’s next league encounter is a clash with Trabzonspor on the same day.
