Al-Ittihad offer €30m for Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa
Al-Ittihad have reportedly offered €30m to Feyenoord for Algeria winger Anis Hadj Moussa as they seek a replacement for Moussa Diaby.
The Saudi club are looking to strengthen on the wing after French forward Diaby completed his move to Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday. Hadj Moussa has emerged as the preferred target, with Al-Ittihad prepared to spend heavily to secure his signature during the current summer transfer window.
French football outlet Foot Mercato reports that Al-Ittihad have made a €30m proposal to Feyenoord for the 24-year-old. The Dutch club have yet to agree to the deal, but Al-Ittihad are hoping their offer will persuade Feyenoord to sell one of their key attacking players.
The Saudi side are also seeking to take advantage of Feyenoord’s need to raise funds. The Dutch club have begun work on building a new stadium and, according to the report, may be willing to sell several players to support that project.
Hadj Moussa enjoyed an impressive campaign with Feyenoord last season. He made 40 appearances in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and supplying seven assists.
His performances have attracted interest from several clubs around Europe. French teams Lille and Marseille have expressed a desire to sign him, while Portuguese club Sporting CP have also considered a move. However, none of those approaches has resulted in a successful agreement so far.
Al-Ittihad believe they can now move ahead of those rivals with their substantial offer. The club are attempting to complete the deal in the final hours of the summer transfer window, with Hadj Moussa viewed as the player who could fill the position vacated by Diaby.
The Algeria international would also find a familiar presence in Al-Ittihad’s squad if he moved to Saudi Arabia. The club already have another Algerian player in midfielder Houssem Aouar, whose presence could provide an additional incentive for Hadj Moussa to join.
The proposed move remains subject to an agreement with Feyenoord. Al-Ittihad’s €30m offer represents their attempt to secure a permanent transfer, while Feyenoord must weigh the value of keeping a player who made a significant contribution last season against the financial benefit of accepting the Saudi club’s bid.
With Diaby’s departure already completed, Al-Ittihad are focused on finding a new wide attacker before the summer market closes. Hadj Moussa’s goals and assists for Feyenoord have made him their leading option, and the Saudi club are prepared to open their finances in an effort to complete the signing.
