Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo linked with Benfica move
Tosin Adarabioyo, an English-Nigerian centre-back at Chelsea, has been linked with a move to Benfica in a rumour recorded on 11 August 2026.
The 28-year-old is currently contracted to Chelsea until 30 June 2028, with the Premier League club and Benfica representing the proposed starting and destination clubs respectively. Benfica play in Portugal’s Liga Portugal.
Adarabioyo’s listed market value is €16m, a figure that provides an indication of his valuation as speculation over a possible switch to Lisbon emerges. No transfer fee, negotiation details or probability of the move have been established.
The defender’s position is central defence, and he remains part of Chelsea’s squad under a contract that has almost two years remaining. That contractual commitment means any move would require an agreement between the two clubs rather than a free transfer.
The rumour concerns a cross-border move from the Premier League to Portugal’s top flight, with Benfica identified as the club interested in signing the player. There has been no confirmation that a transfer has been agreed, and Adarabioyo remains a Chelsea player with his contract running until June 2028.
