Flying Eagles striker Kparobo Arierhi joins Sogndal on loan from Lillestrøm

Flying Eagles striker Kparobo Arierhi has completed a loan move to Norwegian club Sogndal, where he will remain until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old forward joins Sogndal from Norwegian top-flight club Lillestrøm, having spent the previous campaign on loan at Mjøndalen. During that spell, Arierhi scored four goals.

Arierhi said he was pleased to have secured the opportunity to continue his development with Sogndal and believes the club will provide the right environment for him to progress.

” I feel like this will be a good place for me. After looking around here, Sogndal seems to be a good place to develop, play and thrive,” Arierhi told theclub’s official website.

” People are very nice here. This is going to be very good.”

The move gives Arierhi the chance to gain further experience in Norwegian football after making 11 appearances and scoring twice for Lillestrøm.

Arierhi joined Lillestrøm in 2024 from Nigeria’s Beyond Limits Academy. He is regarded as a quick attacking option and will add competition to Sogndal’s forward line for the remainder of the season.

Havard Flo, who is responsible for player logistics at Sogndal, said the club expects the young striker to make a positive contribution to the squad.

“Kparobo is a young and exciting player. He is a fast back-up striker and will complement the others we have in the squad. Now we are looking forward to starting the autumn season together,” Flo stated.

Sogndal moved for Arierhi after allowing two forwards to leave during the current transfer window. Oliver Hintsa joined Dinamo Bucuresti, while Sebastian Pedersen completed a move to Orlando Pirates.

Those departures created the need for Sogndal to recruit another attacking player, with Flo saying Arierhi’s pace and style would bring qualities that were not previously available in the squad.

” After the sale, the need arose to bring in a replacement who can add speed and a different type of skills than what we have before. We are very grateful that we were able to come to this solution with Lillestrøm, as the interest in Arierhi was great,” added Flo.

Sogndal will now hope Arierhi can build on his time with Mjøndalen and make an impact during the autumn season. The loan agreement runs through to the end of the campaign.
