Liverpool open talks to re-sign Trent Alexander-Arnold from Real Madrid
Liverpool have opened advanced negotiations with Real Madrid over a possible deal to bring back Trent Alexander-Arnold, just months after the England right-back left Anfield for the Spanish capital.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Liverpool are prepared to pay €15m (£13m) for Alexander-Arnold, who has struggled to secure regular first-team football since joining Real Madrid.
Jacobs said: “Liverpool are in advanced talks with Madrid for their former player Alexander-Arnold. Liverpool will pay €15m for the right-back, who has not had many opportunities to play since joining the club.”
The discussions are reportedly approaching their final stages, with Alexander-Arnold said to be keen on finding a club where he can play more regularly. The 27-year-old has faced strong competition for the right-back position at Real Madrid and has consequently spent periods on the substitutes’ bench.
