Kano Pillars secured a dominant 3-1 victory over Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan in their NPFL Matchday 37 fixture, with Super Eagles’ legend Ahmed Musa netting a brace to lead his side to triumph.
The Oluyole Warriors were the more dominant side in the first half but failed to make the most of their scoring opportunities, showing poor marksmanship in front of goal.
The visitors’ inability to capitalize on their chances came back to haunt them in the second half, as Musa put Pillars ahead with the opening goal in the 50th minute.
Shooting Stars responded quickly, with Alex Aghahowa finding the equalizer in the 58th minute, but their celebrations were short-lived.
Just minutes later, Pillars were awarded a penalty, which Naziru Auwal confidently converted in the 61st minute to restore the home team’s lead. Musa then sealed the victory with a well-executed third goal, completing his brace.
The win gives Kano Pillars a significant boost as they aim to finish the season on a high, while 3SC will look to bounce back and end their campaign positively when they host Rangers International of Enugu in their final match of the season.
