Rinsola Babajide departs Costa Adeje Tenerife

Nigeria forward, Rinsola Babajide has announced her departure from Spanish Women’s top flight side, Costa Adeje Tenerife.

The former Liverpool player announced the end of two seasons stint with the team.

In a message released on her social media pages, Babajide who represented England at youth level before switching allegiance to Nigeria thanked fans, teammates, and coaching staff.

“My time at Costa Adeje Tenerife has come to an end. I want to start off by thanking the fans for their incredible support during my 2 years at the club. I want to thank my team mates & the whole technical staff and the extended members of staff for everything,” She posted.

“Special shoutouts to Samuel Fariña & Adrián Fumero for their unwavering support and belief in me from the start until the very end, it was a huge pleasure working alongside you both. I’m proud of what we did as a team with the cards we were dealt with. I’m proud of these particular 2 years that has shaped me to not only become a better player but a stronger person, I’ve had so many obstacles thrown at me in which i rose to the challenge that helped me to become wiser and more observant.

“I wish the club all the luck & success in the world. Really looking forward to what God has planned next for me.”

She scored 10 goals in the Spanish Liga F this season with five assists in 26 games.

The former Watford, Brighton, and Betis player is yet to confirm her next destination.

She joined compatriot, Gift Monday in departing Costa Adeje Tenerife. Monday left for National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side, Washington Spirit.
