Nottingham Forest’s Ola Aina sidelined with calf Injury, Nuno laments loss of quality

By Dayo Awoniyi

Nottingham Forest has been dealt a significant blow with the news that Super Eagles defender Ola Aina will be sidelined for an extended period due to a calf injury.

Aina was forced off the pitch in the 40th minute of Tuesday’s 1-0 victory over Manchester United at the City Ground.

Subsequent scans have confirmed the severity of the injury, leaving head coach Nuno Espirito Santo with a defensive dilemma ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Aston Villa.

“It’s a calf problem, and he’s going to be out for a while,” Nuno said in a press conference.

“He won’t be available, and we will definitely miss his quality, his talent, and the routines he’s developed with his teammates.”

The injury comes as another setback for Forest, especially with Alex Moreno unavailable to feature against his parent club Aston Villa.

As a result, Nuno will need to find an alternative solution to cover Aina’s absence in defense for the crucial upcoming fixture.
