By Wale Mustapha

Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi delivered an impressive performance for Fulham on Tuesday, scoring twice in their 3-2 defeat to West Ham at the London Stadium in the English Premier League.

Iwobi, a standout performer for the Cottagers this season, netted his first goal in the 51st minute, chipping the ball over an advancing Lukasz Fabianski to reduce the hosts’ lead to 2-1.

West Ham had taken a two-goal lead in the first half through Tomáš Souček and Carlos Soler.

Lucas Paquetá extended West Ham’s advantage to 3-1 before Iwobi responded with his second goal, keeping Fulham’s hopes alive. However, despite his efforts, Fulham were unable to find a late equalizer, ending their eight-match unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Iwobi was substituted in the closing minutes of the match, with Rodrigo Muniz replacing him.

So far this season, Iwobi has contributed 7 goals and 3 assists in 21 league appearances, demonstrating his importance both offensively and creatively for Fulham.
